mixed media on canvas

Layers of images peel back like old walls, under whose veil other decades emerge. What once was shimmers through layers of memory. Including grandmother’s photo albums and narrated family history, works emerge that re-contextualize old contexts of meaning. What is it that shapes them? They are intimate fragments of personal history that we can only approach. What was, always remains subjective in the view of the narrator, the photographed and the photographer. It is in our hands what previous history does with us and what we make of it.
